Graduate? Graduate.

Hello WORLD.

Here’s your annual blog posting from me, Asia Ja’Lacie.  (Even though EVERY year I say I’ll blog monthly, smh)

Speaking of eating my words, after much denial and exclamations of, “I will never do grad school”
Here I am, looking a graduate programs.

*cue “I told you so’s”*

“BUT WHAT WILL YOU STUDY?!” the crowd shouted.

Inspired by the Bible and Pop Culture (which occurs more than you think in my life), I’ve decided to get my master's degree in Public Relations.

Yes, the end goal is still to be on a talk show, but I’m excited about this adventure.

It’s all really fun, exciting, scary…and exhausting.

Searching for graduate programs is now rivaling finding myself a significant other.

Just a mess.

During this process of deciding to do grad school, I’ve learned a few things:

Things Change
Like I said, I was NOT going to graduate school. But no less than a month after graduation, I was emailing my professors and looking at programs. Be open to that change.

Take Your Time
There are SO MANY PROGRAMS. If you’re considering graduate school take your time until you find the right one that suits your needs. Don’t get hung up on the prestige of the university, if the program is not what you want, find one that does. Do you want online, or in person? Is it expensive? Will you make connections?!

Remember this is your money and education, so do it your way.

Just Do it!
The most important thing I learned, growing yourself educationally is never a bad thing. So if you want to get more (or start) schooling, DO IT! You won’t regret it!

Obviously I haven’t decided on, or been accepted to a program yet, but I’m excited to share this journey with you all.

If you have any suggestions of good programs, feel free to share them with me!
